【Abstract】Objective To explore the effect of citalopram on the mental health of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) undergoing endoscopic sinus surgery. Methods Eighty-two patients with chronic rhinosinusitis underwent nasal endoscopic surgery from March 2018 to September 2019 in our hospital were selected and grouped according to the random number table method. 41 cases in the control group were treated with budesonide nasal spray, and 41 cases in the observation group were treated with citalopram for 3 months, comparing the neurotransmitters before and after surgery: norepinephrine (NE) and dopamine (DA) ), serotonin (5-HT); anxiety and depression: Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMD); SF-36 scale to assess quality of life; visual analog scale (VAS) ) Score subjective symptoms. Results: The NE, DA, 5-HT levels and SF-36 scores of the observation group after surgery were higher than those of the control group, and the scores of HAMA, HAMD, headache, purulent nasal discharge, nasal congestion, and hyposmia were lower than that of the control group, with significant differences (P <0.05). Conclusion: Citalopram for patients with CRS underwent nasal endoscopic surgery can reduce clinical symptoms, eliminate anxiety and depression, and improve quality of life.
