Objective To summarize the experience of laparoscopic surgery in the treatment of complex appendicitis with root gangrene and perforation. Methods The clinical data of 20 cases of root gangrene perforated appendicitis treated in our hospital were reviewed, and the time was selected from 2022.2 to 2024.2. All patients received laparoscopic appendectomy. We observed and analyzed these patients, focusing on changes in various indicators during and after surgery, as well as the occurrence of complications. Results All the 20 patients underwent laparoscopic surgery successfully. The average operation time and appendix stump suture time were (82.08±29.11) and (7.62±3.21)min, and the intraoperative blood loss was (20.21±10.17)mL. The time of exhalation and removal of abdominal drainage tube after operation was (23.18±13.03) h and (5.05±2.20)d, and the average length of hospital stay was (11.1±4.0)d. The incidence of postoperative infection was low, and no symptoms such as adhesive intestinal obstruction were found during follow-up review. Conclusion Laparoscopic surgery is safe and effective in the treatment of root gangrenous perforated appendicitis, and can also reduce the risk of related complications, which is conducive to the postoperative recovery of patients.
