Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of repetitive transcranial acupuncture stimulation (rTAS) and body acupuncture stimulation in the treatment of mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. Methods Sixty patients with SUI were randomly divided into a treatment group (n=30) and a control group (n=30) according to the random number table method. The treatment group received rTAS and body acupuncture combined with oral administration of Suquan Pills. The control group received rTAS and body acupuncture combined with oral administration of Suquan Pills. The changes in the scores of the Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form (ICIQ-SF) and the scores of urine leakage in the 1-hour urine pad test were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results Before treatment and 4 weeks after treatment, the scores of ICIQ-SF and 1-hour urine pad test in the two groups were improved compared with those before treatment (P＜0.05), and the above indicators in the treatment group were better than those in the control group (P＜0.05). The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group (P＜0.05). Conclusions Transcranial repetitive acupuncture combined with body acupuncture and medication can improve the clinical symptoms of mild to moderate SUI in women and effectively relieve the symptoms of urinary incontinence, with a significantly better therapeutic effect than simple body acupuncture.
