Objective To explore the pharmacists pharmaceutical intervention and countermeasures of irrational combination of Western medicines. Methods A total of 100 patients in our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 who needed combination of western medicine were selected for study, and randomly divided into control group and experimental group, with 50 patients in each group. Pharmacists pharmaceutical intervention was not provided in the control group, while pharmacists pharmaceutical intervention was provided in the experimental group. The therapeutic effect, incidence of adverse reactions, utilization rate of antibiotics and clinical indicators were compared between the two groups. Results The treatment effect of the experimental group was better than that of the control group, P<0.05; the incidence of adverse reactions in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, P<0.05; the utilization rate of antimicrobial drugs in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group, P<0.05. Conclusion Providing pharmacists with pharmaceutical intervention during the irrational combination of Western medicines can improve the therapeutic effect of patients, reduce the occurrence of adverse reactions, reduce the utilization rate of antibacterial drugs, and meet the treatment needs of patients.
