Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of glucocorticoids on acute otitis media in the community. Methods From January 2023 to December 2024, 100 patients with acute otitis media treated at the community health center during this period were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into two groups according to the order of treatment time: the control group (50 cases) received conventional treatment, and the observation group (50 cases) received glucocorticoid treatment. The data was analyzed based on treatment efficacy, interleukin-6 (IL-6), platelet activating factor (PAF) levels, hearing threshold, symptom score, and patient satisfaction. Results The levels of IL-6, PAF, hearing threshold, and symptom score in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group, with higher treatment efficacy and patient satisfaction, P＜0.05, The difference is statistically significant. Conclusion Glucocorticoids have a significant therapeutic effect on acute otitis media in the community, effectively reducing the inflammatory response and hearing threshold levels of patients, improving their clinical symptoms, and it is recommended to promote their application.
