Objective To explore the correlation between platelet specific and tissue-specific fusion (HLA) antibodies (i.e. platelet antibodies) and habitual miscarriage. Methods Solid phase agglutination assay was used to screen and investigate platelet antibodies in 760 pregnant women without a history of early miscarriage and 52 patients with a history of early miscarriage. Results Among 760 pregnant women without a history of early miscarriage, 28 cases (3.68%) were detected as positive for platelet antibodies. Among 52 patients with a history of early miscarriage, 11 cases (21.2%) were detected as positive for platelet antibodies. The positive rate of platelet antibodies in patients with a history of early miscarriage was significantly higher than that in pregnant women without a history of early miscarriage (χ2=4.836, P<0.05). Among the 39 platelet antibody positive individuals, 11 had a history of early miscarriage, with a miscarriage rate of 28.20%; Among 773 pregnant women with negative platelet antibodies, 41 had early miscarriage, with a miscarriage rate of 5.30%, indicating a significant correlation between platelet antibodies and early miscarriage (r=37.20, P<0.05). Conclusion Pregnant women with positive platelet antibodies have a higher risk of early miscarriage compared to those without platelet antibodies.
