[Abstract] Objective To explore the effect of psychological intervention based on the theory of hope combined with music relaxation therapy on the level of hope, the degree of psychological pain, and cancer-related fatigue in patients with advanced lung cancer chemotherapy. Methods A total of 106 patients with advanced lung cancer chemotherapy in our hospital from December 2016 to December 2019 were selected and divided into study group (n=53) and control group (n=53) according to the order of admission time. The control group took conventional nursing intervention, and on the basis of conventional nursing intervention, the study group took psychological intervention based on the theory of hope combined with music relaxation therapy, and both intervened for 1 month. Comparing the treatment compliance and the degree of psychological pain and negative emotions [anxiety (SAS), depression (SDS)], hope level (HHI), cancer-related fatigue (PFS), coping style (MCMQ) scores before and 1 month after the intervention between the two groups. Results The SAS and SDS scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group after 1 month of intervention (P<0.05); one month after the intervention, the study groups positive attitude towards reality and the future, taking positive actions, and maintaining close relationships with others scores were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05); after 1 month of intervention, the avoidance and yield scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the face scores were higher than the control group (P<0.05); the psychological pain of the study group was better than that of the control group after 1 month of intervention (P<0.05); one month after the intervention, the behavior, emotion, perception, and cognition scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); the treatment compliance rate of the study group was 94.34% higher than that of the control group 81.13% (P<0.05). Conclusion Psychological intervention based on the theory of hope combined with music relaxation therapy applied to patients with advanced lung cancer chemotherapy can reduce their negative emotions and psychological pain, improve patients hope level, promote patients to adopt active coping methods, relieve their cancer-related fatigue, and improve treatment compliance.
