Stroke is a common cerebrovascular disease in clinical practice, and after active clinical treatment, it is easy to leave sequelae, among which hemiplegic upper limb muscle spasms are the most common. With the worsening of the aging population problem, the incidence of post-stroke hemiplegic upper limb muscle spasms continues to increase, causing adverse effects on patients daily life and physical health, and imposing a great burden on patients families and society. Therefore, early identification and treatment of post-stroke hemiplegic upper limb muscle spasms are of great significance for disease recovery and improving quality of life. However, the rehabilitation effect of current stroke patients with hemiplegic upper limb muscle spasms is not very ideal, and there are problems in the recovery of upper limb function and hand function. To improve the rehabilitation effect of upper limb muscle spasms in hemiplegic patients after stroke, clinical efforts are being made to study rehabilitation treatment plans. In view of this, this article provides an overview of the pathogenesis, risk factors, and rehabilitation treatment methods of spasticity in hemiplegic upper limbs after stroke, in order to provide reference for clinical treatment of spasticity in hemiplegic upper limbs after stroke.
