Objective To analyze the clinical value of the combination therapy of donepezil and olanzapine in the treatment of elderly patients with dementia accompanied by behavioral and psychiatric symptoms (ADMB). Methods 64 ADMB patients treated in our hospital from February 2024 to February 2025 were included in the study and randomly divided into a reference group and a study group, with 32 patients in each group. The reference group was treated with olanzapine, while the study group was treated with donepezil on top of it. The two groups were compared in terms of the duration of the connection test, the symptom score of irritability behavior, and the level of inflammatory factors. Results Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the efficacy indicators between the two groups (P>0.05); After treatment, the duration of the connection test in both groups was shortened, with the study group being shorter than the reference group (P<0.05). The symptom scores and levels of inflammatory factors in both groups decreased, with the study group being lower than the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination therapy of donepezil and olanzapine has significant clinical value in the treatment of ADMB patients.
