With the growing societal demand for aesthetic treatments, facial rejuvenation has become a research hotspot. Facial wrinkles are categorized into dynamic and static types. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) therapies, such as acupuncture and herbal facial masks, improve skin condition by regulating qi and blood, while botulinum toxin type A reduces dynamic wrinkles by blocking nerve signals. This study divided 120 participants into three groups: a TCM external treatment group (acupuncture + herbal facial masks), a botulinum toxin injection group, and a combined treatment group. After an 8-week observation period, the combined group demonstrated superior improvement rates for expression lines (78.6%) and static wrinkles (65.2%) compared to single-therapy groups. TCM external treatments promote blood circulation and skin repair, while botulinum toxin rapidly relaxes muscles, with the two approaches synergistically prolonging efficacy. In terms of safety, only a few cases experienced minor subcutaneous bleeding or swelling, which subsided within 48 hours. The combined therapy integrates the holistic regulation of TCM with the precision intervention of modern aesthetic medicine. Physicians tailored the treatment based on patients facial muscle-nerve conditions and aging severity, enhancing natural-looking results. This study provides a novel integrative approach to facial rejuvenation by combining TCM and Western medicine. However, further research is needed to explore its adaptability across different skin types and age groups.
