Objective This study aims to explore the therapeutic effect of Zhixue Zhentong Capsules combined with conventional Western medicine on osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 70 patients were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups of 35 patients each. The experimental group received conventional Western medicine combined with Zhixue Zhentong Capsules treatment, while the control group received conventional Western medicine administration. Evaluate the clinical efficacy, quality of life score, visual analog scale (VAS) score, Japanese Orthopaedic Association Evaluation of Treatment Score (JOA), tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-6, and other aspects to compare the clinical outcomes. The research data showed that there was no significant difference in demographic characteristics between the two groups of patients (P>0.05). Observe the clinical efficacy and quality of life scores of patients in the observation group VAS JOA Tumor necrosis factor alpha, interleukin-6, swelling and other indicators were better in the control group than in the control group (97.14% vs. 85.71%; 78.73 ± 5.23 vs. 61.23 ± 4.52, 79.63 ± 4.75 vs. 62.46 ± 4.57, 81.36 ± 4.37 vs. 70.26 ± 5.83, 78.30 ± 6.53 vs. 62.26 ± 4.46); 1.24±1.24 vs.2.33±2.32，88.52±2.52 vs.84.46±5.42; 63.35±8.14 vs.69.22±8.42，56.28±6.43 vs.61.36±6.36, 1.32±0.42 vs.1.86±0.38; P＜0.05); During the study, the incidence of adverse reactions such as nausea and dizziness in patients with osteoarthritis in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The research results indicate that Zhixue Zhentong Capsules have good efficacy in the treatment of osteoarthritis, with fewer adverse reactions, and can be applied in clinical practice.
