[Abstract] Objective To observe the self-efficacy level of patients with paranoid schizophrenia and to analyze the influencing factors of the self-efficacy level of patients. Methods A total of 75 patients with paranoid schizophrenia treated in our hospital from January 2019 to May 2020 were selected. The general self-efficacy scale (GSES) was used to assess the level of self-efficacy of the patients; a baseline survey questionnaire was designed to collect baseline data of patients and recorded, included possible influencing factors, and found out the influencing factors of low self-efficacy in patients with paranoid schizophrenia through single-factor and multi-factor analysis. Results Among 75 patients with paranoid schizophrenia, 27 had a low sense of self-efficacy, accounting for 36.00%; after single factor analysis, a multiple regression model was established and the results of multiple factor analysis showed that unable to take care of themselves, strong stigma, and negative emotions were all influencing factors for poor self-efficacy in patients with paranoid schizophrenia (OR>1, P<0.05). Conclusion The level of self-efficacy of patients with paranoid schizophrenia is not optimistic. It may be affected by self-care ability, stigma, negative emotions, etc, some patients’ have low level of self-efficacy, the clinic should pay attention to early assessment of the self-efficacy level of patients with paranoid schizophrenia, and implement reasonable and targeted interventions for patients with poor self-care ability, severe stigma, and severe negative emotions, aiming to improve the level of self-efficacy of patients, which may have a positive significance in promoting the treatment smoothly.
