Objective To explore the effect of psychological rehabilitation nursing on postoperative self-care ability recovery of thoracic surgery patients. Methods 80 patients undergoing thoracic surgery in our hospital from January 2023 to March 2024 were randomly divided into two groups. The control group received routine nursing care, while the study group received psychological rehabilitation nursing in addition to routine nursing care. The nursing effects of the two groups were compared from four aspects: emotional state, self ability, and nursing compliance. Results Before nursing, the comparison of various indicators between the two groups was P>0.05; After nursing, the HAMA and HAMD scores of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the BI score was higher than that of the control group, with a comparison of P<0.05; The nursing compliance of the research group was higher than that of the control group, with a result comparison of P<0.05. Conclusion Psychological rehabilitation nursing can not only improve the negative emotions of thoracic surgery patients after surgery, but also enhance their nursing compliance and promote the recovery of their self-care ability. It can be flexibly applied in clinical practice according to the patients situation.
