Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of 5A nursing model in the comprehensive management process of AIDS patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods This study selected 60 cases of AIDS complicated with pulmonary tuberculosis confirmed by the Infection Department of the Second Peoples Hospital of Northern Guangdong in Shaoguan City from January 2019 to December 2023 as the analysis samples. These cases were evenly divided into two groups using a random number table method: a control group and an intervention group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group implemented routine nursing strategies, while the intervention group adopted the 5A nursing model. The study aims to compare the performance of two groups in terms of negative emotion levels and self-efficacy scores. Results Compared with the reference group, the experimental group showed lower levels of negative emotions, and this difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Meanwhile, the experimental group had a higher self-efficacy score than the reference group, and this difference was also statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In the process of comprehensive management of AIDS patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, the application of 5A nursing mode has shown significant effects, which not only effectively alleviates the negative emotions of patients, but also improves their self-efficacy. This nursing strategy has high promotional value in clinical practice.
