【Abstract】Objective To investigate the effect of paroxetine on the mental state and cognitive function of patients with colorectal cancer after brain metastasis. Methods Eighty-two patients with colorectal cancer brain metastases from January 2016 to March 2020 in our hospital were selected and grouped according to the random number table method.41 patients in the control group were given psychological intervention, and the observation group increased paroxetine treatment on this basis. Three months later, the neurotransmitter factors of the two groups were compared: serotonin (5-HT) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF ) Level; Mental status: assessed by the Concise Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD); cognitive function: the cognitive function is assessed by the MMSE scale and the MoCA scale. Results: The levels of 5-HT, BDNF, MMSE and MoCA in the observation group after treatment were higher than those in the control group, and the BPRS and HAMD scores were lower than that in the control group, which was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Paroxetine treatment of patients with colorectal cancer after brain metastasis can effectively improve nerve function, reduce depression symptoms, and promote the recovery of cognitive function.
