Objective To study the effect of self-care in brain tumor. Methods This study included 40 patients who underwent brain tumor surgery in our hospital between October 2023 and October 2024. These patients were grouped by random number table method, forming two groups of observation and control, the number of patients in each group was 20, the patients in the control group received routine care, the observation group implemented the Orem self-care model, and analyzed and compared the nursing effect obtained by the two groups. Results In terms of nursing management quality, the observation group scored higher than the control group; the patients were better than the control group; the patients were less anxious than the control group; the incidence of postoperative complications was lower than the control group; the postoperative pain was reduced compared with the control group; finally, the improvement effect of quality of life was better than the control group, and the difference had statistical significance (P <0.05). Conclusion The self-care mode in the postoperative care of brain tumors can further improve the quality of clinical care, enhance the patients compliance behavior and self-care ability, improve the patients negative mood, promote the patients postoperative physical recovery, and improve the quality of life.
