Objective To investigate the effect of invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring in the nursing of critically ill patients in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care (RICU). Methods Selecting 34 critically ill patients admitted to our RICU from October 2024 to January 2025 as the sample for this study, all patients underwent invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring. They were randomly divided into a control group (17 cases, receiving routine care) and an observation group (17 cases, receiving targeted care). Afterwards, the blood pressure status, frequency of adverse events, and nursing satisfaction of the two groups before and after intervention were compared and evaluated. Results After intervention, the diastolic blood pressure (DBP), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and mean arterial pressure (MAP) of both groups of patients showed an upward trend. Further comparison revealed that the observation group had higher levels of DBP, SBP, and MAP compared to the control group after intervention (P<0.05). Compared to the control group, the observation group had a lower incidence of adverse events and showed a higher level of nursing satisfaction (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of invasive arterial blood pressure monitoring and corresponding nursing interventions for critically ill patients at RICU has achieved significant results, helping to stabilize the patients arterial blood pressure, reduce the occurrence of adverse events, and improve the satisfaction of patients and their families with nursing care. Has high application value.
