Objective To analyze the application effect of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing combined with finger exercises in reducing neonatal jaundice. Methods A study was conducted on 220 newborns delivered by postpartum women in our hospital from March 2024 to March 2025. They were randomly divided into two groups: a control group of 55 with conventional treatment, and an experimental group of 165 (group A with 55 cases treated with traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing, group B with 55 cases treated with finger exercises, and group C with 55 cases treated with a combination of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and washing and finger exercises). The four groups were compared in terms of transcutaneous jaundice values, stool frequency, neonatal stool turning yellow time, and family satisfaction. Results Compared with the control group, experimental group C showed better performance in all indicators, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese medicine fumigation and finger exercises has a significant effect in reducing neonatal jaundice, reducing the value of transcutaneous jaundice, increasing the frequency of bowel movements, shortening the time for neonatal stool to turn yellow, and improving family satisfaction.
