Modern Social Science Research

In the context of population aging, traditional elderly care models are no longer applicable. A new elderly care service model - the community-based home care service model - has started to flourish across China. This paper takes District S in Urumqi as the research object and conducts a comprehensive and detailed exploration of the community-based home care model. The research deeply analyzes the status of elderly care demands and service provisions from four crucial aspects of the elderlys lives: daily care, medical and health care, cultural and recreational activities, and spiritual comfort. However, through research, it is found that at present, the community-based home care model in District S has problems such as low public recognition, insufficient policy support, a shortage of professional talents, lagging infrastructure construction, and a lack of personalized services. Based on this, the article puts forward targeted improvement suggestions such as strengthening policy and financial support, enhancing the cultivation of professional talents, increasing social awareness, optimizing infrastructure construction, and promoting diversified and personalized services, aiming to promote the better development of the community-based home care model and effectively meet the elderly care needs of the elderly.
