With the rapid advancement of internet technology, language as a fundamental tool of human communication is undergoing unprecedented transformations. Notably, the phenomenon of "linguistic inflation" has become increasingly prominent, manifesting not only in Chinese but also in English. As a critical instrument for cross-linguistic information transfer, translation has been significantly affected by this linguistic inflation phenomenon. This study aims to conduct an in-depth investigation into the characteristics, causes, and translational implications of linguistic inflation in both Chinese and English within digital communication contexts. Specifically, it analyzes multiple manifestations of linguistic inflation in Chinese and English. The paper systematically elaborates how linguistic inflation impacts translation, while proposing corresponding countermeasures, and ultimately enhance the efficiency and quality of cross-linguistic communication in addressing challenges posed by linguistic inflation.
