Abstract
Compared with the major five operas in China, namely Jing opera, Henan opera, Yue opera, Ping opera and Huangmei opera, Qinqiang is not widely known and sung by Chinese Xiqu fans. However, as the origin of Bangzi Tune-pattern, the essential part of cultural development in the Belt and Road Initiative, and the national nonmaterial cultural legacy, researches on the translation of Qinqiang is significant and worthy of inquiry. This essay is going to discuss culture-loaded words in the libretto of the Double Imperial Edict, which is applied by Shaanxi Xiqu Research Institute in their performance, namely: salutations, dialects, folk adages and allusions. It aims to provide some clues and suggestions for those who are taking an interest in translation of Qinqiang and the spread of Chinese Xiqu.
