东盟国家媒体中的“中国”形象——基于扎根理论的探索性研究

摘要
本世纪以来,我国国家形象研究已进入系统、纵深的发展阶段。然而,鉴于学术界相关领域的研究主要聚焦西方发达国家舆论场,致使聚焦东盟或东南亚国家的相关研究相对而言较为单薄。本文基于60篇东盟媒体涉华报道,根据扎根理论建构国家形象分析模型。研究发现,东盟国家媒体建构“中国”形象故事线包括他赋形象、反衬形象、主体形象、关系形象和自表形象5个部分,观察形象的极性与争议性两个维度。在极性维度上,他赋形象与自表形象的积极程度高于反衬、主体和关系形象。在争议性维度上,他赋形象争议性最低,自表形象争议性最高,反衬、主体和关系形象居两者之中,其程度依次升高。分析结果显示,中国的他塑形象最为积极,且争议性小,自表形象虽然积极程度高,但是争议性最大,反衬、主体和关系形象在极性维度上积极与消极兼有,其中关系形象及部分主体形象尚有提升空间。未来我国形象自塑应更多地着眼争议性形象,着重建构主体形象、关系形象和自表形象。基于扎根理论的东盟媒体的中国国家形象分析,有助于揭示国际新闻生产中隐性的形象传播实践,可为优化我国自塑形象提供参考。
Abstract
Since the beginning of this century, research on China’s national image has entered a systematic and in-depth stage. However, given that related studies have primarily focused on media discourse of Western countries’, studies specifically addressing ASEAN or Southeast Asian nations remain relatively scarce. This paper analyzes 60 China-related reports from ASEAN media outlets and constructs a national image analysis model based on Grounded Theory. The study finds that ASEAN media construct the “China” narrative along five storylines: Externally Assigned Image, Contrasting Image, Subject Image, Relational Image, and Self-Projected Image. These are evaluated across two dimensions: Polarity and Contentiousness. Regarding Polarity, the Externally Assigned Image and Self-Projected Image exhibit higher levels of positivity than the Contrasting, Subject, and Relational Images. Regarding Contentiousness, the Externally Assigned Image shows the lowest level, while the Self-Projected Image is the most contentious. The Contrasting, Subject, and Relational Images fall between these two extremes, with their contentiousness increasing sequentially. The analysis reveals that China’s Externally Assigned Image is the most positive and least contentious. While the Self-Projected Image is highly positive, it is also the most contentious. The Contrasting, Subject, and Relational Images exhibit a mix of positive and negative elements in terms of Polarity, with the Relational Image and some aspects of the Subject Image showing room for improvement.
