[Abstract] Objective To analyze the current situation and influencing factors of social anxiety in asthmatic children. Methods Ninety-six asthmatic children from November 2018 to November 2020 were selected as the study subjects, and children with a total score < 8 points on the social anxiety scale for children (SASC) were regarded as the normal group, and children with a total score ≥ 8 points on the SASC were regarded as the anxiety group. The two groups were compared for gender, age, disease duration, household income, primary caregivers age, primary caregiver education, self-perception burden scale (SPBs), asthma clinical symptoms score, primary caregiver anxiety score. Results Among the 96 children, 55 with SASC total scores < 8 points were in the normal group, and 41 with SASC total scores ≥ 8 points were in the anxiety group. There were no significant differences in gender, age, primary caregivers age or primary caregivers education between the two groups (P > 0.05). The anxiety groups disease duration, SPBs, asthma clinical symptom scores, primary caregivers anxiety scores were significantly higher than the normal group, and their household income was significantly lower than the normal group. After multivariate logistic regression analysis, disease duration, household income, SPBs, asthma clinical symptom score, and primary caregiver anxiety score were all independent risk factors for social anxiety in asthmatic children (P<0.05). Conclusion Asthmatic children have a higher incidence of social anxiety, which is closely related to the disease course, family economy and asthma control, and the mood of the main caregivers, and the clinic should give comprehensive treatment according to the actual situation of the children.
