[Abstract] Objective To explore the related factors of depression in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis. Methods Ninety-five patients with chronic rhinosinusitis from April 2018 to April 2020 were selected as the research objects. The self-rating depression scale (SDS) was used to evaluate the status of depressive disorder, the clinical symptoms of chronic rhinosinusitis, such as nasal congestion, runny nose, hypoosmia, and so on. The course of disease, Pittsburgh sleep index scale (PSQI) and other medical records were investigated. The depression and non-depression patients were compared between groups. Regression analysis was used to investigate the related factors of depressive disorder. Results The SDS score of 95 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis was (42.82 ± 8.93), of which 20 patients had more than 53 points. There were significant differences in nasal congestion, runny nose, sniffins sticks olfactory test score (TDI), Lund Mackay endoscopy score (L-M), course of disease and PSQI index between depression group and non-depression group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in age, facial pain and dizziness scores (P>0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that nasal congestion, runny nose, TDI score, L-M score, course of disease, PSQI index were related factors of depression in patients with rhinosinusitis. Conclusion Some of the patients with chronic rhinosinusitis are troubled by depressive disorder. The clinical symptoms such as nasal congestion and runny nose, course of disease and sleep disorders are significantly correlated with depressive disorder.
