Since the implementation of the Rural Revitalization Strategy at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its comprehensive advancement at the 20th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have placed high priority on the development of a new socialist countryside. This has propelled rural construction and development across the nation into a new phase. This paper examines the transformative journey of Jiangxiang Village in Changshu, Suzhou—from its past as a "schistosomiasis-plagued, impoverished, and isolated area" to its current status as a "model of rural revitalization in Jiangsu." Focusing on Jiangxiangs successful practices, the study analyzes the key approaches through which the village has driven its residents toward dual prosperity, both materially and spiritually. It further distills the concrete measures by which the "Red Spirit" has guided Jiangxiangs transition from underdevelopment to prosperity. As Jiangxiang Village strives to build itself into a modern "land of fish and rice," its experience offers valuable insights for rural construction, transformation, and upgrading in Jiangsu and beyond.
