[Abstract] Objective: To analyze the efficacy and side effects of aripiprazole and quetiapine in the treatment of late-onset schizophrenia. Methods: 60 patients with late-onset schizophrenia in our hospital from January 2018 to February 2020 were selected and divided into two groups according to the "random number table". 30 patients in the reference group were treated with quetiapine fumarate tablets, and 30 patients in the observation group were treated with aripiprazole tablets. The clinical efficacy, PANSS score, neurotrophic factor, PSP score and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (96.67%) was higher than that of the reference group (73.33%), the PANSS score of the observation group was lower than that of the reference group after treatment, the serum GDNF, BDNF levels and PSP scores of the observation group after treatment were higher than those of the reference group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions between the observation group (6.67%) and the reference group (10.00%), P>0.05. Conclusion: Aripiprazole tablets and quetiapine tablets can effectively relieve the mental symptoms, neurological function and social function of patients with late-onset schizophrenia, but the adverse reactions of aripiprazole tablets are less.
