Objective To explore the effect of self role identity nursing model on schizophrenia with diabetes. Methods 68 schizophrenic patients with diabetes admitted to our hospital from 2024 to 2025 were randomly divided into a control group (routine nursing) and an observation group (self role identification nursing), 34 in each group. By comparing the effectiveness of two nursing groups, analyze the actual effects of self role identity nursing. Results Before nursing, there was no statistically significant difference in self-control and social integration ability scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After the implementation of nursing, the observation group scored higher than the control group in controlling verbal impulses, physical aggression, and non aggressive behavior, while the social integration ability score showed a significant decrease, but statistical analysis showed a significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion For patients with schizophrenia and diabetes, the introduction of self role identity nursing can significantly enhance the self-management ability of patients, and to a certain extent, promote their social integration ability, showing the positive effect of this nursing model.
