Objective In view of the safety of compound Shenqiwei E capsule in children, pregnant women and the elderly, the characteristics of drug interaction and the rationality of drug use were systematically analyzed, so as to provide reference for clinical drug use of special people. Methods A total of 300 inpatients and outpatients who used the drug from June 2013 to April 2015 were included by retrospective investigation. The rationality of drug use was evaluated according to the relevant diagnosis and treatment norms, and the risk of drug interaction and drug overdose was evaluated. Results Among the 300 patients, 56.0% were completely rational, and the incidence of irrational drug use was 29.3%. The main unreasonable types are improper usage and dosage (16.0%) and inconsistent indications (44.3%). Children, pregnant women and the elderly are quite different from ordinary adults because of their physical function and metabolic characteristics, and their reactions to drugs are more complicated, so the evaluation of drug safety and effectiveness needs to be more cautious. Conclusion Although compound Shenqiwei E capsule has shown good tolerance and effectiveness in most patients, in order to ensure the safety of the drug in clinical use, especially in the above-mentioned special population and special drug use, it is still necessary to further supplement the relevant research and carry out more in-depth research.
