[Abstract] Objective: To explore the value of using fluoxetine in the treatment of patients with chronic heart failure and depression, and to analyze the impact of this regimen on negative emotions and sleep quality. Method: A study was conducted on 80 elderly patients diagnosed with chronic heart failure and depression in our hospital from April 2021 to January 2023, using an Excel spreadsheet. They were divided into two groups according to the sequential balance method. 40 patients were included in the control group for routine psychological intervention and anti heart failure treatment, while 40 patients in the observation group were treated with fluoxetine on the basis of the control group. Calculate the clinical efficacy after treatment and evaluate the patients negative emotions, sleep status, and heart function before and after treatment. Result: After receiving fluoxetine treatment, the clinical efficacy recorded in the observation group of 40 patients was 97.50%, which was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); The HAMA and HAMD scores recorded in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); The PSQI score recorded in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); The 6WMD, CO, and LVEF recorded in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: In the treatment of patients with chronic heart failure and depression, choosing fluoxetine can not only improve negative emotions, but also alleviate the impact of the disease on their sleep quality and cardiac function.
