Abstract: Objective: To explore the impact of psychological care on the mental health status and health education effectiveness of first-episode hypertensive patients undergoing physical examination. Methods: Case data were collected and filed from January 2021 to December 2022. A total of 100 first-episode hypertensive patients admitted to the hospital were included in the study. The participants were divided into a control group (receiving routine care) and an observation group (receiving routine care+psychological care) based on the standardized grouping method of "random number table". 50 patients were included in each group; Observe and compare two groups of negative emotions, symptom checklist, medication compliance, and blood pressure levels. Results: After intervention, the scores of Self Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self Rating Depression Scale (SDS), and Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) decreased in both groups, with the observation group having a lower score (P<0.05); The treatment compliance rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05); After intervention, both groups showed a significant downward trend in blood pressure levels, with the observation group showing a relatively low level (P<0.05). Conclusion: The implementation of psychological nursing in first-episode hypertensive patients undergoing physical examination can actively eliminate negative emotions and strengthen compliance, while also improving mental health status and stabilizing blood pressure control.
