Abstract
[Abstract] Objective To analyze MRI features in patients with ischemic stroke (IS) combined with depression. Methods Ninety-four cases of IS patients in our hospital from August 2019 to December 2022 were used as the study population. Forty-six cases with depression self-rating scale (SDS) ≥ 53 were used as the study group, and 48 cases with SDS < 53 were used as the control group. MRI characteristics of the two groups were compared. Results The proportion of ischemia in the frontal, temporal, and basal ganglia regions was significantly higher in the study group than in the control group, and the differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). When comparing the proportion of ischemia in the parietal, occipital, thalamus, internal capsule, and hippocampus in both groups, the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values in the frontal, temporal, and basal ganglia regions were higher in the study group than in the control group, and the differences were all statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Patients with IS combined with depression have a significantly higher proportion of ischemias in the frontal, temporal, and basal ganglia regions, and the disease can be prevented and treated clinically based on MRI-related parameters.
