Since the 20th century, there have been many feminist literary writers in the world literary circles, and there are too many female-themed works. Author Kate Chopins famous short story "The Story of an Hour" is widely regarded as a feminist classic. The novel reflects the authors strong feminist consciousness through a series of psychological changes and conflicts experienced by Mrs. Mallard after hearing the news of her husbands death. In the novel, the root of the oppression of womens life is the patriarchal social ideology. The sudden death of her husband brought to the fore an id in Mrs. Mallards heart who longed for physical and spiritual freedom. But the short-lived beauty is vulnerable in the face of powerful patriarchal forces. Mrs. Mallard eventually sacrificed her inner freedom with death.
