Objective To explore the clinical effect of cold compress of traditional Chinese medicine in early postpartum perineal care. Methods 200 postpartum women who gave birth naturally in our hospital from April 2024 to May 2023 were included in this study. They were randomly divided into a control group (conventional perineal disinfection care) and an experimental group (traditional Chinese medicine cold compress perineal care), with 100 cases in each group. The perineal pain, perineal edema, sleep status, and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There was no statistically significant difference in the occurrence time of perineal edema between the two groups (P>0.05). After nursing, the NRS pain scores and PSQI scores of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the disappearance time of perineal edema was shorter than that of the control group. The nursing satisfaction was higher than that of the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion In clinical practice, the use of cold compress with traditional Chinese medicine in early postpartum perineal care can significantly improve patients perineal edema and pain, accelerate edema disappearance, improve patients sleep quality and nursing satisfaction, and has high application value.
