This paper discusses the importance of sustainable development in fish farming and its implementation strategies. The article first analyses the current environmental, economic and social challenges faced by the fish farming industry and highlights the key role of sustainable development in safeguarding long-term resource use and ecological balance. A series of sustainable development strategies are then proposed, including the adoption of eco-friendly culture technologies, optimisation of feed formulation to reduce resource wastage, implementation of integrated disease management, enhanced environmental monitoring of culture systems and improved farm management practices. The importance of policy support, scientific research inputs and public education in promoting sustainable development was also emphasised. Through the implementation of these strategies, the fish farming industry can meet current needs while ensuring that future generations will also benefit.
