Objective To explore the effectiveness of adopting humanistic care in psychological care for elderly patients. Methods 82 elderly patients were selected as the study subjects and selected from our hospital, with a sampling period from February 2023 to February 2024. The above patients were divided into a reference group and an experimental group by using a random number table method. The reference group received routine psychological care, while the experimental group received humanistic care intervention, with 41 cases in each group. The effects of the two groups were evaluated. Results The negative emotion score of the experimental group was lower than that of the reference group (P<0.05). The incidence of nurse patient disputes in the experimental group was lower than that in the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion The use of humanistic care in psychological care for elderly patients has a more prominent effect, which can significantly alleviate their negative emotions, reduce the occurrence of nurse patient disputes, and help improve their quality of life.
