Objective To analyze the impact of nursing intervention on the safety care of elderly patients in the Department of Nephrology. Methods 76 elderly patients admitted to the Department of Nephrology of our hospital from August 2023 to April 2024 were selected as the research subjects and divided into a control group and an observation group through the random number table method, with 38 cases in each group. The control group applied routine nursing, and the observation group applied targeted nursing. The safety cognitive scores, safety accident incidence rates, and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The safety cognitive score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the contrast between the groups was significant (P<0.05). The incidence rate of safety accidents in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the contrast between the groups was obvious (P<0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the contrast between the groups was obvious (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of targeted nursing in the safety care of elderly patients in the Department of Nephrology has a significant effect, which can effectively improve patients safety awareness, reduce the risk of safety accidents, and thereby improve nursing satisfaction.
