Objective To explore the practical effect of the supervision mode of TCM decoction pieces substitution in primary medical and health institutions under the "digital" scenario. Methods The implementation time was from June 2022 to March 2023, and the primary medical and health institutions that had not implemented the "digital" scenario before November 2022 were selected as the control group (500 prescriptions). After November 2022, the supervision mode of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces dispensing in primary medical and health institutions under the "digital" scenario will be implemented as a practice group (500 prescriptions). To observe and compare the effectiveness and application value of the two groups of prescription in the digital dispensing and decocting supervision mode. Results The practice group was significantly better than the control group (P < 0.05) in terms of quality evaluation, such as error of decocting quantity, difference of taste and color of drugs, unchecked prescription drugs, no clear mark of special decocting method and lack of medication instructions on packaging bags. In addition, the scores of the practice group were higher than those of the control group in terms of the comprehensive service ability, such as operation standardization, operation proficiency, prescription review ability, medication guidance ability and acceptance of information technology (P < 0.05). Conclusion In the "digital" scenario, the primary medical and health institutions can implement the supervision mode of TCM decoction pieces dispensing and decocting, which can obtain the ideal management effect of TCM decoction pieces dispensing.
