Objective To analyze the application value of narrative nursing combined with quantitative activity intervention in patients undergoing gastric cancer surgery. Methods 200 gastric cancer surgical patients admitted to our hospital from May 9, 2022 to May 9, 2023 were selected as the research subjects. Using stratified sampling method, patients were divided into two groups according to different nursing methods: the traditional group and the new group, each with 100 cases. The traditional group received routine care. On this basis, the new group received narrative nursing combined with quantitative activity intervention to analyze the results. Results After intervention, compared with the traditional group, the new group had shorter dietary duration, recovery time for exhaust, recovery time for bowel sounds, recovery time for defecation, activity time for getting out of bed, and removal time for urinary catheters, with P<0.05; Compared with the traditional group, the new group had significantly higher quality of life scores after intervention, with P<0.05. Conclusion The combination of narrative nursing and quantitative activity intervention can significantly improve the gastrointestinal function of gastric cancer patients undergoing surgery, enhance their quality of life, and promote their speedy recovery. Therefore, this method is worthy of further promotion and application in clinical practice.
