Objective To explore the effect of evidence-based nursing in the perioperative period of patients with esophageal cancer undergoing radical resection. Methods A total of 90 patients who underwent radical resection for esophageal cancer from October 2022 to October 2023 in a Grade-A hospital were enrolled and divided into two groups, 45 cases respectively. The control group took routine perioperative nursing, the observation group took evidence-based nursing. The patients emotional state, pain degree, complications and quality of life were investigated before and after the operation. Results Compared with the control group, the scores of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), visual analogue scale (VAS), total incidence rate and Chinese version of esophageal Cancer Scale (QLQ-QSE18) in observation group decreased more significantly, with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion The patients undergoing radical operation for esophageal cancer receive evidence-based nursing during perioperative period can significantly relieve anxiety, relieve pain, reduce the risk of complications and improve the quality of life.
