Objective To analyze the effect of nutritional support nursing on quality of life in patients with gastric cancer. Methods The study subjects were 70 patients with gastric cancer treated by surgery admitted to our hospital from February 2021 to February 2024. The patients were randomly selected with numbers (1-70) and divided into two groups (n=35 in each group) in an even-even way. The control group received routine nursing, and the study group received nutritional support nursing on the basis of routine nursing. The nutritional indexes (albumin, prealbumin, transferrin, hemoglobin), length of hospital stay and quality of life of the two groups were compared. Results There was no statistical significance in the level of nutrition index and quality of life between the two groups before nursing (P > 0.05). The differences were statistically significant after care (P < 0.05), and the levels of albumin, prealbumin, transferrin, hemoglobin and quality of life in the study group were higher than those in the control group. The duration of hospitalization in the study group was shorter than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The implementation of nutritional support nursing for gastric cancer patients can effectively improve the nutritional status of patients, shorten the length of hospitalization, and promote the improvement of their quality of life.
