Objective To explore the application value of bedside ultrasound guidance in patients with difficulty in venipuncture in ICU. Methods From July 2022 to December 2023, 80 ICU patients in our hospital were selected to participate in the analysis. They were randomly divided into two groups, the traditional blind puncture method in the control group and the bedside ultrasound-guided puncture in the research group, with 40 patients in each group. The puncture situation, the success rate of one puncture and the satisfaction of puncture were analyzed. Results The puncture times, puncture time and VAS score in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The success rate of puncture in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). The satisfaction degree of patients in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05), and there was statistical significance between the two groups. Conclusion Clinical use of bedside ultrasound-guided peripheral vein puncture can improve the success rate of one puncture in ICU patients, relieve the puncture pain of patients and improve their satisfaction, which is worthy of wide recommendation.
