Objective To analyze the clinical effect of applying the behavior change model (BCW) theory to health education in the operation room nursing of eye patients. Methods 100 patients with eye surgery from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the study objects. Due to the differences in clinical nursing of patients, patients were divided into groups according to nursing measures, with routine operating room nurses included in the reference group (50 cases) and health educators assisted by BCW theory included in the study group (50 cases), and nursing effects were compared. Patients negative emotion score (SAS, SDS), mastery of disease knowledge (disease knowledge, surgical knowledge, compliance behavior, daily health care), patient compliance, postoperative recovery (vision, length of stay), and nursing satisfaction were counted and compared to determine the effectiveness of nursing measures. Results After statistical comparison, there were significant differences between the two groups in negative emotion score, mastery of disease knowledge, patient compliance, postoperative recovery and nursing satisfaction, and the study group was superior to the reference group (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of behavior change model (BCW) theory in the nursing process of ophthalmic patients in the operating room has ideal clinical effect, which can significantly alleviate patients negative emotions, enhance patients grasp of disease knowledge, improve patients clinical treatment compliance, promote postoperative visual recovery, promote patients to leave hospital as soon as possible, and obtain patients satisfaction with nursing measures. It has wide application value.
