Objective To explore the effectiveness of targeted nursing in the treatment of pediatric pneumonia. Methods 58 pediatric pneumonia patients admitted to our hospital from February 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the study subjects. Divide into a reference group and an experimental group using a random number table method, with the reference group receiving routine care and the experimental group receiving targeted care. 29 cases in each group. Compare the nursing effects of two groups based on treatment effectiveness, time of symptom disappearance, length of hospital stay, and parental satisfaction with nursing care. Results The effective rate of treatment in the experimental group was higher than that in the reference group (P<0.05). The disappearance time of symptoms and hospitalization time in the experimental group were shorter than those in the reference group (P<0.05). The satisfaction rate of parents in the experimental group was 93.10%, while the satisfaction rate of parents in the reference group was 65.52%. The satisfaction rate of parents in the experimental group with nursing care was higher than that of the reference group (P<0.05). Conclusion Targeted nursing in the treatment of pediatric pneumonia can not only promote treatment effectiveness, but also shorten the time for symptom disappearance and hospitalization, and improve parental satisfaction with nursing. This method is worth promoting.
