The "Production-oriented Approach" is a theoretical system of foreign language teaching with Chinese characteristics, proposed and constructed by Professor Wen Qiufang from Beijing Foreign Studies University, aiming to improve the effectiveness of college English teaching in China. This paper attempts to apply this theory to practice, guiding medical students in participating in scientific research English speech contests, and proposes the following: First, increase output-oriented English learning tasks related to medicine in the English courses of medical colleges and universities to enhance medical students interest and sense of achievement in language learning. Second, integrate the experience of preparing for and participating in contests into English classroom teaching, driven by medical research projects, and integrate language learning of medical professional knowledge into English courses, promoting learning through use and applying what is learned, thereby cultivating students abilities in international academic communication and empowering their career development.
