Objective To study the value of nursing health education in preventing pressure sores after internal fixation of intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients. Methods 74 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture of femur admitted to our hospital from July 2021 to July 2022 were randomly divided into routine group and education group. The education group received special and in-depth nursing and health education on the basis of routine nursing, including the establishment of nursing groups, the formulation of personalized nursing plans, the use of revised Braden scoring method to group patients with risk, and the psychological education, pressure ulcer guidance and nursing, functional guidance, etc., in the aspect of health education. Results The education group was superior to the conventional group in NSNS score, Hsrris score, fracture complication knowledge, functional exercise knowledge and pressure sore prevention knowledge (P>0.05), and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion Nursing health education can improve patients understanding of the disease and self-care ability, and effectively prevent the occurrence of pressure ulcer. It is suggested to promote the application of nursing health education in nursing practice after internal fixation of intertrochanteric fracture of elderly femur, so as to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcer and improve the quality of life and satisfaction of patients.
