Objective Laparoscopic surgery for appendicitis is a common small surgical operation, but during perioperative period, patients often have negative emotions such as tension, fear and anxiety, which affect the prognosis of patients. Therefore, this paper analyzes the impact of psychological nursing on the psychological status and sleep quality of patients undergoing laparoscopic surgery for appendicitis. Methods A total of 66 patients with appendicitis who underwent laparoscopic surgery from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected for this study. According to different perioperative nursing measures, all patients were divided into control group (routine perioperative nursing) and observation group (enhanced psychological nursing intervention) on average, and the clinical application effects of the two groups were compared. Results The psychological status, treatment compliance, nursing satisfaction, quality of life and sleep quality of patients in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and P < 0.05 indicated that there was comparative significance. Conclusion The application of psychological nursing in patients with laparoscopic appendicitis surgery is extremely important, which can not only improve the psychological state of patients, enhance their confidence in surgery, but also directly promote the improvement of sleep quality, so as to speed up the rehabilitation process, which is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
