Objective To analyze the impact of music oriented narrative nursing on negative emotions, self-management ability, and quality of life in adult epilepsy patients. Methods Fifty adult epilepsy patients admitted to our hospital from March 2023 to March 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The control group received routine care, while the observation group received music oriented narrative care. The scores of negative emotions, self-management ability, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group had significantly lower scores of negative emotions than the control group, with significant inter group comparisons (P<0.05); The self-management ability score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the inter group comparison was significant (P<0.05); The quality of life score of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the inter group comparison was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of music oriented narrative nursing in the clinical care of adult epilepsy patients has a significant effect, which can effectively alleviate their negative emotions, improve their self-management ability, and thus improve their quality of life.
