Objective To report the clinical situation of photodynamic therapy for a case of tracheal adenoid cystic carcinoma. Methods Analyze the case data of patients with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the trachea admitted to our hospital on October 30, 2023, to understand the disease manifestations, treatment methods, and prognosis. Results On November 1, 2023, the patient underwent the first general anesthesia bronchoscopy examination, combined with endoscopic tumor resection and cryosurgery. The postoperative symptoms of dyspnea were significantly relieved, and routine pathology showed adenoid cystic carcinoma. On November 6, 2023, the patient underwent the first photodynamic therapy under bronchoscopy, which had a good therapeutic effect. After surgery, routine anti infection, expectorant, and anti asthma treatments were performed, and airway debris was repeatedly cleared more than 10 times. After gradually stabilizing and recovering, the patient was discharged. Conclusion Surgical resection is the main treatment for adenoid cystic carcinoma of the trachea in clinical practice. However, for cases where the lesion area is too large or the tumor diameter is too large, interventional treatment is necessary. Photodynamic therapy can achieve better results.
