Panic disorder, also known as acute anxiety disorder, is mainly characterized by sudden attacks, unpredictable, no fixed situation, and intense panic experience. The symptoms of the disease are sometimes mild and severe, with a prolonged course and repeated episodes. It is accompanied by significant impairments of the social function, which has a negative impact on the patients quality of life, work ability, and psychosocial function. As a emerging comprehensive artificial intelligence technology, virtual reality technology has the advantages of immersion and interaction, virtual reality technology is increasingly used in the treatment and research of mental illness. This paper provides a review of virtual reality technology and its application in the treatment of panic disorder.
