【Abstract】 Objective To explore the changes of regional homogeneity(ReHo) and its correlation with cognitive impairment in patients with chronic stable schizophrenia. Methods 20 patients with chronic schizophrenia (patient group) and 19 healthy volunteers (control group) were selected. The cognitive function was assessed by the repeatable battery for the assessment of neuropsychological status (RBANS). Rs-fMRI scanning was performed in both groups.The rs-fMRI data were analyzed by ReHo method.Pearson correlation analysis was performed between REHO values of statistical different brain regions and scores of RBANS．Results Compared with the control group, the patients scores in visual space/structure, speech function, attention and total score were significantly lower（P<0.05 or P<0.001）. The ReHo values of bilateral posterior central gyrus,lingual and right inferior temporal gyrus in patient group decreased (P <0.05) comparing with the control group；The ReHo value of right inferior temporal gyrus was positively correlated with the total score of PANSS and positive symptom scores (P < 0.05), and negatively correlated with speech function (P < 0.05)．Conclusions In patients with chronic schizophrenia, the synchronous congruent activity of bilateral posterior central gyrus, lingual gyrus and right inferior temporal gyrus is decreased in resting state, and the change of ReHo may be associated with cognitive impairment in chronic schizophrenia.
